The Parisian Railway
Here is a place that I love to visit. Like a well-kept secret, this pretty piece of Paris keeps to itself. Promenade Plantée is a very unusual park. It was built on the former tracks of the Vincennes railway line and has now been transformed into a garden path. Built ten meters above street level and stretching 4.5 km from the Opera Bastille to the beautiful Bois de Vincennes.
The park has somewhat of a magical feel. Planted arches of greenery overlook the Parisian rooftops with ponds running through. A lovely place to picnic and an evening stroll.
Built into the railway arches below are the Viaduc des Arts. A wonderful area of artisan boutiques and atelier showrooms. Take a stroll along to discover the beauty of the crafts ranging from chocolate makers to umbrella shops and chic cafes.
Follow Avenue Daumesnil to access the stairway and take a walk on the wild side of Paris.
Enjoy!
